We have both had an interest in becoming digital, however that interest grew after separate trainings that we took part in. Mrs. McAdams took part in the Schlechty design training and Mrs. Velazquez took part in Engaging the Net Generation. We shared our learning with one another and were eager to begin implementation. Currently, we are able to have a fraction of our class using digital tools while working in a time share model. Our desire is for our second language learners to be part of a fully interactive classroom where they exist comfortably and naturally with an online parallel world. Having a digital classroom will move us forward in our implementation of what we have learned as professional and fully equip our students with skills they will need for college readiness and a future career. Developing respect for other’s cultures is an important aspect of the Dual Language program. Providing our students with digital resources will further expand their global awareness of the world around them.
